Quiet Generosity, Rapid Impact

At Quiet Givers, we solve urgent needs in the High Country through a streamlined model powered entirely by local community support.

Our Beginnings

In 2010, our founder learned about three local siblings who desperately needed clothes for school. Even while navigating her own tight budget, she stepped up to buy the pants herself.

When the school social worker asked who should get credit on the thank-you note, she simply said, "Quiet Giver."

What started as a single act of anonymous kindness quickly grew into a grassroots movement. Neighbors rallied together on social media to fulfill local needs, leading to our official 501(c)(3) nonprofit designation in 2014.

Where we are Today

Quiet Givers has grown drastically since our first act of anonymous generosity. Today we serve three counties in Western North Carolina: Watauga, Avery, and Ashe.

We partner with over 50 local agencies, schools, churches, and other organizations to fill needs, helping hundreds of local families each year. Our goal is to ensure that a temporary emergency doesn’t become a long-term crisis for individuals and families in the High Country.

Our Mission

To create a supportive community through shared giving that empowers individuals and families in need.

Our Vision

Quiet Givers envisions a community where financial hardship is a thing of the past.

Vetted Partner Referrals

We don’t take direct requests from the public. Instead, we work through local schools, churches, non-profits, and service agencies across Watauga, Ashe, and Avery. They thoroughly vet every request before it ever reaches us.

Rapid Response

When a vetted partner identifies a critical need that falls outside their budget or mission, they bring it to us. The majority of these urgent requests are funded and resolved within 48 hours.

100% Locally Funded & Fully Flexible

We deliberately accept no state or federal grant money. Funded entirely by private donations and local grants, Quiet Givers retains complete freedom to act quickly, cut through red tape, and address uncommon emergencies when people need it most.

Anonymous Crowdsourcing

For larger or unique needs, we leverage our website and social media network to anonymously raise funds from the community. The recipient’s dignity and identity are fully protected at every stage.

“Thank you so incredibly much. We are so fortunate to live in this area where people do so much to care for one another.

We are endlessly grateful to Quiet Givers.”
