Frequently Asked Questions
How Quiet Givers Works
-
Quiet Givers is a certified 501(c)(3) non-profit serving the North Carolina High Country. Local case managers and community agencies submit verified client needs that fall outside traditional funding streams. Quiet Givers then works to fill these needs or to post these requests anonymously to our network of donors, who contribute directly to fill the specific need.
-
We actively fill needs for residents in Watauga, Ashe, and Avery counties in Western North Carolina.
-
Requesting Help
-
We fill emergency gaps that protect basic human dignity and stability. Eligible categories include Housing, Utilities, Transportation, Health and Safety, and Education.
-
We welcome referrals from schools, government agencies, non-profits, and churches assisting clients in the High Country. We are not able to fill needs submitted directly by clients.
-
To protect donor funds and maintain low administrative overhead, we rely on local professional case managers, social workers, school counselors, and agency staff to verify needs. This ensures 100% of donor funding goes to vetted, legitimate emergencies without requiring us to assess and validate requests in-house.
-
We do not fund holiday gifts directly so that we can keep 100% of our capacity focused on year-round essential needs like housing, utilities, and safety. However, several High Country partners offer holiday programs - check our Resources directory for other options.
