Austin lives is a 14 year old with a traumatic brain injury. He lives with his grandparents and teenage sister. His grandparents are full-time legal guardians and work hard to provide for his physical, mental, and educational needs. The family used electric heaters to keep the house warm last year and his grandmother stated, "It was just too expensive. It was never less than $500 a month. That's why we want to use oil this year. It's our first time using oil." They have not been able to save money to fill the tank. The family is unable to request assistance for the electric bill because it is in the landlord's name. The family travels out of county frequently for both children's doctor's appointments, but more often than not, Austin's appointments, due to his specific medical concerns. The cost is $1210 to fill their tank.
