Heat Up the High Country Assists 84 Individuals

QuietGivers Apr 06, 2023

April 1 marked the end of our 2022/2023 Heat Up the High Country campaign. This year, Quiet Givers spent nearly $18,000 on heating needs, assisting 84 individuals here in the High Country. According to Todd Carter, Director of Development at Hospitality House, not a single Watauga County family was turned down for heating assistance through our partnership with WeCAN. That is a huge success - and we owe it all to our loyal givers.

Winter 2022/2023 was by far the most expensive year we've had for heating fuel - it's also the most successful single fundraisier Quiet Givers has ever held. The community truly came through for us this year. All funds raised that were not spent this year will roll over to next year's program to help us get a good start on heating needs when the program kicks off again in September.

We could not have done this without you. Your support for this program has helped us make a huge impact on the lives of so many families across Ashe, Avery, and Watauga counties this year. Special thanks to Graham Doege at WeCAN, whose diligent partnership and steadfast collaboration helped us widen our impact like never before.

We are so grateful to all of you.
